Arnica for Bruises
A few years ago, while preparing for the birth of my 2nd child, my midwife suggested I take two herbs in the weeks preceding the birth; Chlorophyll for the excessive bleeding I experience at birth, and Arnica to keep my cervix from swelling.
I’d heard of Chlorophyll, but Arnica was a new one for me. After some investigation I found that Arnica was good for soothing all kinds of injuries. Now, I keep it on me at all times, as part of a traveling first aid kit. At the first sign of any injury (bruising, small scrapes, stings, etc.), I dab a bit of Arnica on the wound to sooth the pain and speed the healing.
Bruises, even if they are already beginning to appear, will almost always completely disappear within a few hours. My kids ask for Arnica to soothe the pain of a minor bump all the time.
Arnica, it works for me. To see what works for others, check out the Works For Me meme at Rocks in My Dryer.
